Spacestudios add a new studio in Hackney Wick called ‘White Building‘ . Its a two storey warehouse on the River Lea and directly adjacent to the Olympic site. SPC have been asked to design and install a high speed wireless network to compliment the new studios and public spaces there, a micro brewery and cafe’.
After a relatively quiet start to 2012 things are picking up fast. Early in April we spoke again to Eclectic productions regards general IT support for their offices in New Cross and Reprezent studios in Peckham and expect to confirm this week the extent of help they need.

Deptford Housing Coop are redoubling their efforts to stimulate engagement with their members by opening a dedicated IT room in their Community Centre. So we have been refreshing their PC’s and Laptops for use.
In March we were pleased to help Angel Media in their support of GKRadio and a weekend of live FM transmissions. We continue to work with both groups to support development of the gkradio.org website and Angel Media move to into Ravensbourne’s studio in May.
We continue to host weekly ‘Wireless Wednesday’ workshops in Bitspace and attend Deckspace throughout the rest of the week.
So what were you up to?
Anyone making a visit to Deckspace will have noticed our ongoing preoccupation with video, editing, mixing and broadcast. The place is littered with aging VCR and a VHS mountain to match. Yes there is a silo of cinematic material to push on to projection screens and plasmas but our Panasonic MX12 mixers cos of their age have capacitor rot and can’t be relied upon any longer.
To the rescue, Jose Commins with a wholesome Linux based HD vision mixer prototype which we have replicated on a PCI-e based PC carcass Rob left hanging about and presto we have a touch screen 4 channel vision mix between local files, cameras galore and any remote live stream or resource we like.! So its early days with just a years worth of solo hacking and a funding shortfall but its getting done.. more soon
